Pieces Of A Dream - Makes You Wanna

So many people forgot about this great 1988 recording from Pieces Of A Dream, and I wonder why? This was the follow up album to "Joyride", in which Lenny White is back at the production board for this project. Plus, Preston Glass & Cliff Dawson dab a little bit of their production skills into the album, as well as the group, itself, co-produces with White on most of the tracks. The thing about this record is that the trio (James Lloyd, Cedric Napoleon, and Curtis Harmon) added three more musicians to the group's lineup: Lance Webb on Lead Vocals, Vincent Davis on Synthesizer, and Randall Bowland on Guitar.

The album gets pumping with the New-Jack-Swing track, "Ain't My Love Enough", which kinda makes you think of Teddy Riley & Guy's "Groove Me", then it goes into the sentimental Pop/R&B groove, "We Belong To Each Other", which is a production from Glass & Dawson. If you really wanna know which tracks are good to listen to, then I can tell you that mostly all of them are good, especially when you listen to "'Round Midnight", and the jazz version of Simply Red's "Holding Back The Years" featuring the late great Grover Washington, Jr. on Sax.

There are two bonus tracks on this album: "Yubie, Yubie", which is a dedication to the late great Yubie Blake, and "Same Place, Same Time", which is another production from Preston Glass & Cliff Dawson.

One more thing to mention: This was also Cedric Napoleon's last album he recorded with Pieces Of A Dream (what is Cedric doing now?).

Enjoy!
